Wow, the cat's really out of the bag in the air force, isn't it? Mitchell's briefing for his pilots wasn't (as I would have suspected) "Hey, you're going to see some strange things in the sky today. Stay focused and shoot who I tell you to shoot" -- nope, it was, *Anubis* this and *Al-kesh* that. We appear to have Goa'uld language classes going on -- if not at the Academy then soon after.

I find this interesting on a couple of levels. 1 -- they've got to know that a secret that big can't hold, even though last season they had that whole episode with the Branson-look-a-like trying to convince him not to tell the world. 2 -- Sheppard is just over the hill in Antarctica, he's a Major in the Air Force, he's probably escorting people to the super-secret base all the time, and yet, he has no information at all about the Stargate, aliens, you name it.

(Where was Sheppard during the fight at the end of season 7? Do we know if he was in Antarctica yet? That sort of thing had to have been hard to hide.)

I think we hear that he was stationed in antarctica for 11 months before he joined the atlantis project. I suck at timing here, but my current guess is that he came in as a replacement pilot for the guys that shot down anubis's fleet. 'course, I'd also buy a story where he knew Mitchell, but as he was flying helicopters, he was kept out of it. But that's just 'cuz I'd like to see Mitchell and Sheppard together.

And hey, we're leaving now. L is bringing me and I'll call him when I want picked up.
